Wallace & Gromit

Wallace & Gromit are the main characters of four British short animations, and one full length feature film made by Aardman animations. They made their first appearance on the 3rd of June 1989, on BBC 1 and 2, and their first 30 minute short, 'A Grand Day Out' was shown. The synopsis is as follows; "Wallace and Gromit have run out of cheese and this provides an excellent excuse for the animated duo to take their holiday on the moon, where, as everyone knows, there is ample cheese."

The duo are very popular amongst everybody in the UK to say the least, theyn are almost a defining feature of England. But their primary target audience would mainly be children, especially 80's/90's children that were there from the beginning of this animated phenom. Aardman later went on to create lots of different animations, made with clay, using the stop motion technique, suchas; Chicken Run, Flushed Away, Creature Comforts and Shaun the Sheep. All of which were very, very popular, again mostly amongst all of the Britis public.
